Sizing is where many first footwear orders go wrong. Wide toe box shoes add one more variable: customers expect more room at the toes, so the fit has to be checked carefully before a bulk order.

Plan the size ratio per carton
- Use your own sales history if you have it — it beats any generic curve.
- For a first order, order samples in two or three key sizes and test fit with real customers.
- Wide toe box customers often need larger sizes; do not cut the top of the size run too early.
Check the fit on samples
- Toe room: the toes should lie flat without touching the sides.
- Length: about a thumb's width in front of the longest toe.
- Heel: secure, without slipping.
